Depression, Diverticulitis, Disease and How to Repair Damage
How You Can Do Your Part to Reciprocate, Regenerate and Be a Gift: Each Person and Species Has a Purpose and a Job to Do
Some practical ways YOU can help nature, non-humans and YOU: Be a better being with a better brain and reduce harm.
We regenerate our hair, nails, skin, the largest organ of our body, and we can regenerate our mind, our spirit and be of service by co-creating with Something Greater Than Ourselves.
Science shows us we cannot change our genes, but we can change the expression of our genes. This is called epigenetics.
You are what you eat and think.
Mind your gut! Plant-based meals can be nutritious, delicious and easy. The gut and brain microbiome and soil microbiome are all a part of health and well-being of life. It is common sense that soil contributes to our body and our gut microbiome.
Fruits and vegetables have antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, hydrate our body, and can reduce inflammation. Most cooking oils and animal products increase inflammation, a cause of many autoimmune dis-eases such as allergies, asthma, and arthritis. Friends and colleagues have reversed their pre-diabetic trajectory, lost weight, and healed depression with a plant-based diet. Many diseases start in the gut. The most common gut disorder is diverticulosis. Mind your gut…
Food is Medicine.
There are great plant-based websites with hundreds of recipes and information to assist with healthy living. I have met, worked with, and have become friends with many people who are doing great work. I’ve repaired my health, learned from plant-based M.D.’s, regenerative farmers, and organic land care experts for more than 33 years.
Food, flowers and trees.
Eat flowers: make this easy cauliflower recipe.
Broccoli are “little trees”, and trees benefit our lungs. Know the benefits of broccoli, and enjoy this simple recipe.
Soil has nutrients and hands in the soil, planting, is meditative, healing and benefits us on many levels. Volunteer to help plant on a local farm, plant a garden, or plant in pots.
Eat organic, local, in season- Find regenerative farms and support them!

Do something new and good for YOU!
Water is Life.
Stay hydrated. From water life flows…rivers are highways for nature and humans. Follow nature’s way, drink pure water, eat fruits, vegetables, fungi, seeds, nuts, legumes and herbs- all help feed and hydrate the body. Most people do not eat enough fiber, are dehydrated and under-nourished from consuming processed foods, sugars, animal products, and are constipated. Thus, most people are full and stuck with hard fecal matter, the reason for disease, gut disorders, and various other immune disorders, which are connected to many mind-body-spirit challenges.
For kitchen and bath, water filters and reusable stainless steel container are recommended to reduce pollution of our air, land, water, soil and ourselves.
Healthy guts and bodies maintain hydration, as do our soils when they are healthy.
Be creative.
Each living body is a “vehicle”, an “appearance”, for our biological finite experience in time. Each being is a sole (Soul) expression of their gift of service. Together, we create a Divine Song as One – let’s sing our dream of a better world. Imagine a world where each person and species is valued for their purpose, their “Divine occupation”. Our purpose is our service, and is our gift. What is your gift, your soul expression? Create art – paint, draw, write a poem, a short story, sing, dance, play an instrument, write a song, and laugh. How can you be grateful for all species? Kindness is good medicine.
How to care for YOUR nervous system:
You Are What You Think. Relax, breath restores-“resets”- aka changes YOU! Breathe at a count of four fours: Breathe in for 4-Hold breathe for 4-Breathe out for 4- Continue to release breathe for a count of 4. Do this anytime day or night and live with less dis-ease. You will be more conscious, have a better memory, focus, less stress, better health and better sleep…and you will remember your dreams! Remember dreams? Dreams are our personal mystical maps and can have information for us.
A calm nervous system is essential for health, and for receiving information from Something Greater Than Yourself. Meditation, conscious breathing, and eating healthy foods helps your body exit its fight- flight- or freeze mode. The vagus nerve provides signals from your brain to your body, regulating your body’s system.
Breathing consciously slows fight-flight-freeze reactions. Societal systems and lost souls create the trauma we are all “entrained” to live in... Trauma is not natural and tricks us. We are NOT victims. We are CO-CREATORS. Be mindful of what you create.
Reset Drama and Conflicts.
Drama drains us physically, spiritually and emotionally. To gain energy, resolve conflicts within yourself. You will resolve conflicts with others by being at peace within yourself. There are plenty of narcissists, hypocrisy, and people in fear who want to control everyone and everything around them. Forgiveness and Gratitude help you be strong to get along with yourself first and Know Thyself. Our thoughts, feelings, words, actions, memories and beliefs have caused the good as well as the painful things we are witnessing and experiencing at this time. Reset your view and breathe. When we take responsibility for our self and invoke Love, Peace, Compassion, Healing, Oneness and Reverence for ALL Life, we are infinitely more powerful than the fear-based and fragmented behavior patterns and distortions of our fallen, dis-eased human egos.
Change, an Original Short Poem, by Robin Motzer
Change is not strange
When love is your exchange.
Gratitude expands compassions range.
Breathe, Be Quiet and Listen.
Quiet Starts at Home.
Nature provides shelter, beauty, nourishment, health, spiritual enrichment and well-being. Nature has its own rhythm, language, laws and cares for itself.
Witness a shooting star, The Milky Way Galaxy and know connection with Something Greater Than self- it is restorative and natural. We benefit our psyche, our spirit, our body when we know we belong and have purpose. We are made of the stars, we return to the soils, we are universal beings.
When we over-light, fail to use timers and sensors, or use the wrong color of light, we can negatively affect many parts of our world, including migratory birds, pollinators, sea turtles, and mammals, including humans.
Assess Your Home.
Light pollution is the human-made alteration of outdoor light levels from those occurring naturally. Quiet includes the Dark Sky. A home lighting assessment shows how you can reduce light pollution at home. You may even be eligible for a light monitor grant program.
Listen.
Talk less. Listen more. Life is a meditation when we live purposefully…inner peace allows you to dream a new world within yourself. When we reciprocate with nature, we live in harmony with nature, we are healthy, prosperous and we take responsibility for ourselves. Service is our Purpose, our Gift.
Create Your Own Ceremony of Love for Nature.
Walk in nature, breathe in gratitude and breathe out stress. Ceremony as love in action, changes the brain! Honor the four directions, North, East, South and West, the Wind, Fire, Water and Earth, and the Serpent, Jaguar, Hummingbird, and Eagle. Create an altar for nature and make your walk a meditation of release, forgiveness, gratitude and reciprocation.
Live Toxin-free.
Pesticides invade the mitochondria of insects. Pesticides are poisons that seep into YOUR food while in the soil. When you eat toxins from pesticides, it affects your mitochondria, the fuel factories of your body and your brain.
Pesticides kill insects, the soil microbiome- the most important foundation of life. And, pesticides have been shown to cause health issues for humans and non-humans. Mindful living means we must examine ourselves and change when we are not in alignment with our choices. Growth happens when you are courageous and truthful. Why are YOU using pesticides? Why are YOU buying foods that are laden with pesticides?
Nature follows its own science. Organic Land Care is Science.
An accreditation in organic land care (OLC) through Northeast Organic Farming Association/ Organic Farming Association is taught by trail blazers like Chip Osborne of Osborne Organics. I have learned from, and worked with Chip, Jay Feldman of Beyond Pesticides, and the late Ronnie Cummins and Patrick Kerrigan, Co-founders of Organic Consumers Association, and Regeneration International. Together, with their visionary wisdom, we have helped parks utilize organic land care and management and regenerative farms in Tucson, AZ. More of my habitat restoration work with native pollinator gardens and helping Home Owner’s Associations (HOA’s) utilize organic land care, will be featured in upcoming publications featuring Sustainable Tucson Habitat Restoration, as well as the restoration of land and a home in Oklahoma.
Support local, organic, small businesses, and those who give back with their gifts. Service is our purpose. Vote with your dollars.
See more info about the use of billions of gallons of pesticides, how you can bee-lieve in nature and bee the change in a previous Wildlands publication, The Beauty, Brilliance and Blessings of Bees.
Other Ways YOU Connect with Nature, Non-Humans and Humans:
Flower and Grow. Each flower is a sacred symbol, a reflection of Love, Light and Power. We grow our Souls’ connection when we are grateful for beauty, such as a flower or a star, a reminder that we are connected to Something Greater Than Ourselves.
Plant a seed in the soil. Each seed awakens, travels and produces uniquely, depending on their challenges, circumstances and adaptation along their journey, transforming to a glorious diversity that may be shared as food or grow as a plant species. Seeds are nature’s gifts: seeds feed, nurture and give life to humans, non-humans and nature! As humans, like a seed, our knowledge, experience, skills and our spirit: our “seeds” are gifts. What seed are you growing and cultivating? Our soul’s calling is to help others. We grow when we give, receive, when we learn something new, and are in gratitude.
Be in Awe of Nature.
Grow and cultivate health and wellness from these two great sites for rare seeds and medicinal seeds.
The awesome study of Asynchronous flowering patterns in saguaro cacti (Carnegiea gigantea) documents a seasonal, counterclockwise pattern of asynchronous flowering in saguaro and discusses potential drivers of this phenomenon, as well as implications for saguaros responding to change.
Nature can be destroyed but it can also be created and transformed. In physics and chemistry, the law of the Conservation of Energy states, “Energy can’t be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another.”
Each snowflake is unique and creates a beautiful blanket that covers Mother Earth and then gives moisture to soil, animals, plants and trees. Each leaf creates a canopy for trees, plants, is unique, transforms and their “fall” enriches the soils, creates homes for soil beings: leaves cover, feed, and generate new soils.
“A weed is a plant whose virtues have yet to be discovered.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Notice, honor and be grateful for the good in yourself, nature, non-humans and in other people. Honor the seasons and follow nature’s rhythm. Winter is a time of quiet, rest and renewal. Restoration has rest within its moniker.
What can YOU do to have more free time to spend connecting with nature? Leave the leaves and do not use pesticides! Leaves are nature’s refuse - free fertilizer that adds nutrients, nitrogen and carbon to the soil.
Leaves, sticks, twigs and rocks are nature’s free natural resources. Fallen leaves provide fertilizer for the soil, food and habitats for fungi, insects and the soil microbiome- the most important foundation for life. Healthy soils contain nutrients, maintain moisture, minimize erosion, require less irrigation, watering and replenish underground reservoirs. Nature cares for itself.
Hypocrisy is dis-eased information that generates misguided behaviors and habits. Putting leaves and cuttings in plastic bags, which take petroleum and other natural resources, and makes non-biodegradable garbage- all creates toxicity in the air, soil, water and ourselves! Garbage fills and overflows our landfills and is pollution. Be the change and spend less time cutting, blowing, bagging (and, please, no poison) and spend more time in nature. It’s easy to do less- who doesn’t want to enjoy more free time, save money and be healthier?! Leave the leaves. “Feed the soil and allow the soil feed the plants.”- Chip Osborne.
What can YOU do to be quiet? Please reduce noise and power: Leave the leaves, ditch the leaf blowers and poisons, reduce light pollution and enjoy the dark sky.
What can YOU do to reciprocate with nature, be in rhythm with nature so that YOU hear your own inner Guidance from Something Greater Than Yourself?
Get involved in something you care about to reduce harm. My work with wildlife and their habitats include lobbying to end harms, giving public talks and writing articles. I was also part of a team to end wildlife killing contests in Arizona, the fourth State to do so. I wrote an article several years ago while working at a wildlife center about the horrendous way coyotes and other non-humans are harmed. It is time to celebrate good news that these cruel and harmful ways are no longer allowed.
With gratitude for service of Wildlands!
People are ready to change the way the world thinks about faith, ethics and our relationship with nature and non-humans for good. If you are ready for change, support Wildlands!
