The Power of Reciprocity and YOU
Today’s Wildlands publication features some great organizations, shows, projects and advocacy work for examples of the power of Reciprocity and YOU.
“Pieces of Me”, with Women's Art Club of Hamilton, show opened with a full house on a snowy February 17 night, and runs until March 21, 2024, in dual galleries, Fitton Center for the Arts and Strauss Gallery. If you are in the area, check out this great show featuring local artists. My animals art pencil drawings are in both galleries.
“Bubules”, pencil on paper, is featured at Strauss Gallery, as well as a hairless cat portrait. If you like dogs, check out my dog drawing at Fitton Center for the Arts. Interested in having your beloved animal companion family endeared in a portrait? Please contact the me at Wildlands.
March 8, 2024, a Gallery Opening & Performance at Oxford Community Arts Center, is featuring a month long show called, “Changing Climate, Changing Communities, Local Reflections of a Global Issue”, and features my poetry, as well as other artists with a variety of talents.
Stay tuned for an announcement of my essays that will be featured in national Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 publications.
Regenerative Agriculture, Gardens, Habitat Restoration, Conservation, Advocacy and YOU: Reciprocity Heals All
In 2022, Sustainable Tucson/Habitat Restoration, planted native pollinator gardens next to organic food gardens at a school that supports traumatized children.
In 2021, Sustainable Tucson’s Habitat Restoration group also worked with Tucson Parks and Rec to increase soil health and manage the land regeneratively, which reduces water usage and toxic pollution. We are also planning a native pollinator garden in front of the library within the park.
In 2023, we worked with Monarch Watch, and planted a variety of native milkweeds on our farm, which is being transformed into wildlife and pollinator habitats and soon will have regenerative food and herb gardens. Our farm has been in my partner’s family since 1902, and we work with Tulsa Urban Ag Coalition. My AOLCP, soil health accreditation through NOFA/ Organic Farming Association, guides our regenerative farm and gardens.
Organic Design: Home Restoration
We are also restoring a home, designed by me: a complete down to the studs, move rooms and raise ceilings organic design that connects the indoors with the outdoors. We look forward to the completion of a long process during supply chain issues, contractor drama and worker shortages. From land, wildlife, soil, humans and buildings, our farm project is a true, comprehensive project of Restoring Soils and Souls.
