How to Scare Greedy People Away
How I expose fakes, flakes and frauds with generosity, and enjoy connection, inner peace and prosperity
The act of being generous is sometimes taken advantage of and is sometimes misunderstood. The courage to be generous is thwarted when trusted teachers, mentors, guides, and others in leadership roles take from others who are counting on them for assistance, guidance and support.
When people take an idea, personal effort, money, or physical labor from their students, mentees, colleagues, citizens, etc. emotional abuse, like belittling their skills, usually follows to intimidate them. Cruelty is an effort to keep another silent and distant, which helps the “taker” control, divide and conquer. A bait-and-switch or other unethical tactics are a reflection of weak minds-hearts and spirits. Corruption happens when insecure people are entrusted with a role and they take from another for personal gain. Their negativity will come back to them in some form and they will not have inner peace; peace which is true fortune.
One example is when I turned down an opportunity to assist the owner of a publishing company. A job was offered to me by a rich, famous, “successful” person. I turned it down. Opinions came from others that I should accept the offer. They were amazed that I didn’t take the job.
However, after I said no to the opportunity, the valuable intuitive guidance is what turned out to be good, true and the right thing to do.
Years later, I learned that the person had stolen the work of another organization and claimed it as their own. They wrote, published several books, held workshops, spoke at events and built their own empire with stolen work and claimed it was theirs. And, I also found out that they were abusive to those who worked for them. Ironically, they were an international best-selling self-help author and speaker. They were not honest or generous! Their meager, miserly, corrupt true self was exposed by my intuition. I tuned into my own self-worth and listened to my guidance.
I have discovered other takers who experienced misfortune. For example, they got burnt out, injured, their creativity was blocked, they lost clients, lost their business, lost their health and well-being- they endured several set-backs. Greed is dis-ease within one’s self.
Positive actions, thoughts and deeds increase inner fortunes.
Generosity expands. Energy is the most efficient when it’s in a circular motion. You reap what you sow is one well known saying that describes this principle. When someone has given to you, give back to them, and, to further increase good fortune, pay it forward to others.
If you want to improve your life, be generous with others. The more you believe what you have to give is valuable, the better it feels. To increase the impact of generosity, it helps to know how your generosity is being used. When appreciated, you want to give even more. I have empowered myself after being taken advantage of by strengthening my sense of purpose and connection.
Other examples of generosity include nature. Nature gives us food, water, nourishment, shelter, recreation, beauty, inspiration and connection with Something Greater than Ourselves. Many humans take from nature and do not reciprocate.
You will reap the rewards that are simple, good and true, and wisdom cannot be taken from you. Nobody can take from you when you are secure in your own connection with Something Greater than Yourself.
Inner peace is our path to freedom. Interconnection is liberating. Generosity is good for your health and well-being and increases with joy, wonder, awe and gratitude. Generosity is my current currency.
How can you increase your generosity?
