Look at the Dine' (Navajo) community of Blue Gap, Arizona. For decades the residents have been adversely affected by the radiation poisoning - in large part through the water, but also via the tailings.

Yes, it is tragic and why I included links to the Navajo and the EPA's decision (yesterday) to clean up seven abandoned uranium mines on the Navajo Nation. It will be interesting to see the results of the poll. Next week will be an essay about the Havasupai and the same poll will be included. Results will be shared with the USGS, Havasupai, EPA, and the US Forest Service.
