The Art and Nature of Connection
Supporting beings when they are at their most vulnerable is an act of service

Welcome to Wildlands— I’m really glad you’re here!
This week has been a meaningful journey of planning for food and pollinator gardens, wildlife conservation, habitat restoration, Wildlands and art education—all causes close to my heart. At the core of these efforts is a common theme: interconnection. We truly grow together in this world, and it’s a reminder that no matter what is happening around us, there are universal truths that guide us.
The Earth is a living being, and every being has its purpose. Our choices and actions matter because we are all interconnected. Love, not fear, is the force that should guide us. Love is our responsibility, and when we live with love, we experience growth and joy. The beauty of life lies in living responsibly, sharing our bounty, and embracing the infinite cycle of renewal.
Attending the 4th International Conservation Summit in Palm Desert was a reminder of the importance of stewardship. The event highlighted amazing work from conservationists around the world, including efforts to protect the desert tortoise, lions, and large carnivores. It was inspiring to see conservation heroes recognized for their dedication to saving endangered species and ecosystems. These individuals are the heartbeat of restoration and conservation work.
The keynote speaker, Coyote Peterson, shared his love for wildlife, even highlighting ancient species like the bighorn sheep and tortoises. Their story is a testament to resilience. While their population has been reduced over time, efforts like reintroductions are helping them thrive once again.
Zoos, once a source of skepticism for me, have evolved into centers of compassion and empathy. They are no longer just places of display but have transformed into sanctuaries that recreate natural habitats, giving animals a better chance at survival. It’s a reminder that, while we all strive for a perfect world where animals live freely, sometimes imperfect solutions can offer hope.
This week’s journey—both in the field and in reflection—has been a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and nurture all beings, living with love and interconnectedness at the heart of everything we do.
You are invited to create art, food and pollinator gardens and network with nature lovers.
Robin, a nature nomad, artist, writer and conservation advocate, alongside my partner, a physicist and Cherokee Nation citizen, moved to Oklahoma to restore a home and farmland that's been in his family since 1902. My mission includes agrotourism, regenerative farming, sanctuaries for animals, a nature school and retreat, though progress has been delayed due to challenges like supply chain issues and worker shortages. Robin’s work revolves around overcoming obstacles, regeneration, and inspiring others to heal and grow together.
"I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept." - Angela Davis.
I am taking this quote seriously.
I can no longer accept that nature and her beings are so unhealthy, disconnected and mistreated with toxins, pollution and habitat loss (and more).
I am living on the road and planting food and pollinator gardens in parks and schools. I also help care for wildlife and I’m in art events to motivate companies, politicians and communities to work together to reduce harm.
Regeneration Nation to restore soils and souls is in honor of the grandfathers of regenerative farming, Ronnie Cummins, building, John Wesley Miller, and my great grandfather who was a farmer and friend of President Truman.
Why You are Needed
The United States is losing 2,000 acres of farmland per day to development. Read my guest column. We the People must purchase and support farmland, wildlands- let’s collaborate and grow regeneratively. Now is a great time to grow hemp for building materials, paper, clothing, food and medicine and more.
If you are a farmer, or are interested in flora, fauna, food, farming, friends, family and freedom, and would like to meet one of the top U.S. hemp companies, please subscribe.
