How to Create a Native Pollinator Garden Using Rainwater in 3 Simple Steps
Creating conservation-restoration projects and events throughout the U.S. and world to increase health, well-being and connection with flora, fauna to restore soils and souls

My habitat restoration team is planning another pollinator garden next to food gardens in an urban park. We work with the City, local leaders and organizations, including local nurseries, schools and an University. We’ll plant in March (Spring in the Sonoran desert).
Know size of the area, note existing trees, plants, rocks, gates, the natural water flow during rain. Sketch a rough plan.
Adjust plants and locations and sketch again with revisions (Agaves are food for bats and are great nitrogen fixers for the soil).
Create a simple plan to show plant placement, including plant colors and swales (berm and basin to catch and divert water). I sketch drawings and also use Canva. Then, send the plan for approval by the City and organizations involved in the project.
Stay tuned for more photos and videos of the creative process, including our planting day!
Want to support conservation-restoration work, be a part of a healing garden and art in gardens? We’ll plant your name, along with a message from you to grow with the plants and trees for peace and prosperity.

The last gasp and grasp of life before poisons win

This is a bee in a last gasp of life after being poisoned by pesticides.
Did you know that 30% of our food comes from the pollination of bees?
We are literally poisoning and starving ourselves and that is not intelligent. Our brain, gut and heart microbiomes, soil, plants, food are interconnected.
Healthy soils for healthy plants for healthy humans: How beneficial microbes in the soil, food and gut are interconnected and how agriculture can contribute to human health, National Library of Medicine published abstract.
Regenerative farming and any organic land care is a choice, and it is taking responsibility with right action. We are an interconnected web of life. What we do to one being, we do to another. To change the climate of how we care, you are needed- let’s nurture nature. Please join the regeneration nation challenge and ‘bee’ a hero for flora and fauna. Wildlands welcomes people who want to help shift paradigms and reduce harm- let’s restore soils and souls. We are nature.
Our climate thrives in peace and prosperity. May poison be a thing of the past.
“And what is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered…” –Ralph Waldo Emerson, from Fortune of the Republic.
Tell me, how do you nurture nature and how do you do self care?
Wildlands message in Spanish to help shift paradigms, increase collaboration and reduce harm for flora and fauna
Thank you to social scientist,
for translating my work into Spanish (see photo of bee and the message).Esta es una abeja en su último suspiro de vida después de ser envenenada por pesticidas.
Crow Golf and Pro Golf: This crow imitates the sound of golf- listen to the audio clip

Can you hear “crow golf”: a crow mimics the sound of the swoosh of the club and crack of the ball three times in this 6 second audio? The “pro golf” swings and hits a golf ball at the 3 second mark.
Did you know… The term “murder of crows” mostly reflects a time when groupings of many animals had colorful and poetic names in folklore and superstitions. Other fun examples of “group” names include: an ostentation of peacocks, a parliament of owls, a knot of frogs, and a skulk of foxes.
I love Corvids! The “family” of birds have an IQ of a 7–8-year-old child and can mimic words and sounds. Crows are very smart, and they solve problems, use tools, plan for the future, drop nuts in the road so that cars crack them open, remember faces and who was nice or mean to them. I’ve been staying in the same rental for about three months at a time for two years. The crows remember me, stop and say hello, ask me to come outside and sometimes follow me on walks, flying low over my head. I always smile and say hello. I have a lot of crow photos and will share them soon. They love to play. Notice them and you’ll be delighted with how they love to learn and interact with you, too.
Sally the cat update
In recent essays from December and January, I shared the story of my friend’s cat, Sally, along with some healing tips. It’s March, and here is “a little update on Sally. She is doing well, but she looks a little rough. The hair on her nose fell out from the radiation treatment. She also lost most of her whiskers. Despite the cosmetic setbacks, she is doing pretty good. Her appetite is good; she is roughhousing with the (kitten) boys and seems to be doing her normal Sally stuff! - Tom”
Do you see how her nose is pink- inflamed from radiation? Fresh catnip and other greens help reduce inflammation. Love and playfulness are healing, too. I’m doing long distance Healing Touch for Sally. Do you have a companion that would like a healing session? Contact me.
Scenes from a Nature Nomad, simply using what life provides, art and essential oils

Subscribers wanted more photos of my travels and my art, as I work on the road. I’m even sharing a photo of my “comfort desk”- a rolled-up comforter works as a desk for my laptop so I can stand as I work. It’s far from purrfect. That’s life! Keep it simple, work with what you have, be grateful and life is beautiful. Thanks for asking and for supporting Wildlands- your wish is my command.
“Young Living began cultivating lavender, peppermint, melissa, clary sage, and many other herbs and designed and built the largest, most technologically advanced essential oil distillery in North America. In harmony with these efforts, Young Living developed its groundbreaking Seed to Seal® process, which preserves the integrity and potency of essential oils through every step of the production process.”
Young Living Farms began with the vision of Dr. Gary Young. He taught regenerative farming during the height of big agriculture backed by government.
Dr. Young began plowing his fields to plant native lavenders, rose, pine, and other flora, while collaborating with fauna.
I was fortunate to travel to Egypt and Jordan with Dr. Young, to play a part in his film, One Gift. A story about an ancient, arduous expedition of the frankincense trail to trade a commodity more valuable than gold. I’m sharing one of my paintings, “One Gift”, inspired by the film. And here is a photo of some of the essential oils that I travel with- they keep me healthy and smelling good, naturally! Receive 10% off your first order with promo code SHAREYL. (Use code 80721. We are Nature
Heal greed and corruption. Regenerate support for the true, good and beautiful way. Anything that is not love must be resolved within self. Reflection in nature is the best way to heal disease. Science is proving what common sense knows. Nature is healing.
According to Dr. Michael Greger, M.D., “Visiting a forest can induce a significant increase in both the number and activity of natural killer cells, one of the ways our body fights off cancer. Can the aroma of wood essential oils replicate the immune-boosting effects of walking in a forest?” Reduced stress hormones and Phytoncides, the essential oils of forests may help heal cancer. The trees have their own immune system with their essential oils.
Ponder this thought and imagine health, well-being, peace, prosperity and renewal for ourselves and our world...
What if we were satiated within ourselves, symbiotic with nature and stopped supporting materialism and stopped destroying nature?
Each one of us has a distinctive role, a unique perspective, and we are being asked to rise above the turmoil in these troubling times! We can foster myths that instill fear, or we can nurture compassion and empathy for the wild and our own wild nature.
Each of us have helped evolve to a better world. Let’s grow to be satiated within ourselves, symbiotic with nature and let’s stop supporting materialism and stop destroying nature.
Help me grow this work throughout the U.S. and world. Do you know someone who would love art in gardens, STEAM events, retreats, workshops or other conservation-restoration projects and events? I’d love to speak with you about creating projects and events in your area.
I love 💗 the crow golfer:) a thought, wonder if kitty would benefit from Frakincense instead of radiation? Love the Frankincense journey Art. Thank You❣️ for loving the bees 🐝 too!
You're doing great work, we need more people doing this type of projects! It's sad how humans are destroying nature all around them, because we need it to look a certain way.
