How I Teach to Heal Addictions, Afflictions and Restrictions
Our Personal Development: Symbiosis is the New Economics: Compassion and Empathy Reduce Harm, Conserve Nature, Increase Love, Health and Wellness for All Beings
This essay is Part I of a Three Part Series
A world renowned economist, author, speaker, from Washington, D.C., listened as I spoke of an Universal need for new “measuring sticks”, new language, new models, new mindsets and ethics to change the way we treat forests, waters, air, and all of our natural systems and all of her beings- including ourselves.
When we objectify, commodities are forests, waterways, more than humans, and all of us, that become non-right holders to overpower, sell and enslave. We overcome our losses by devouring more and excreting it, whether it be nature, animals, food, farming or freedom. Disassociation is trauma that we are all doing our best to overcome and heal.
While sharing a new vision for ourselves and our world at a conference with the economist, a participant stood up and said with excitement to the economist: “She’s a hero, she has the confidence to speak the truth! You need to listen to her- she is sharing wisdom that we all desperately feel and need! And, she restores habitats and advocates to inspire others to be the change. There are no economic values for very essential advocacy and restoration work- and she needs to be valued as well as her work!”
It was a first for me: first for talking economics with a very well-known expert, being called a hero, all of it.
His supportive energy was like a hug for my soul, and confirmation to keep going with my mission to teach others how to restore soils and souls, grow love and reduce harm.
Devices, Vices and Crises are Distractions to Cure Greed and Need
Addictions and afflictions are complicated with avoidance: self-medication and products are plentiful and sometimes keep us in dis-ease.
Wildlands was created from decades of inner work and creating my own opportunities that share ways for you to benefit: conserve and restore yourself while doing what you love and give to others.
Invest in yourself, and worship Something Greater than Ourselves by giving- to ourselves and others. When we are peaceful and healthy, we have no interest in doing harm to nature, more than humans, humans or ourselves. Our own conservation-restoration is not different than the conservation-restoration needs of nature and her children. Service to all beings is generosity to life that is “returned/ repaid” in ways we sometimes cannot see, hear, hold, or “explain”. Be true to yourself, be peaceful within and trust Self because our current systems are failing. The values of “economic development” do not value true wealth and create devastation to our natural resources, including us. Therefore, valuing our self-development is the most important thing we can do for ourselves and for our world.
Education, business, medical establishments, politics, and religion- all our systems- would be wise to value nature, create training, jobs and a compassionate economic development. All of our “systems rehab” can be done with reciprocity that allows us to do our inner work to heal ourselves. I teach how to do repair harm and increase good, beauty and what is true.
Generosity, reciprocity, compassion, empathy, symbiosis and nobleness are the definition of a new economic development that consents for a better world.
Systems that incorporate our inner work heals addictions and afflictions and do not allow the constrictions and restrictions of our freedom, rights, properties and livelihoods.
Guide People to Do Good: Love in Action
Utilizing intuitive teaching skills and life experience, I created a holistic teaching program in public schools and won a Citizens School Award that taught imagination, design and generosity, while helping families in need.
I later received Certification for Grade 3 in Waldorf Education, based on Rudolph Steiner, was offered a job at their HQ in Sacramento and turned it down. I substituted Grades 1-9, and helped with the after school programs in my City.
Across the Country, teachers spoke with me about their low pay and lack of benefits- and at least one teacher shared that she passed out at school due to lack of being able to afford enough food for her sustenance.
How can we be effective in guiding others if teachers do not have their lives healthy and prosperous?
As John Taylor Gatto knew, radical change is needed to the American educational system to turn around the “dumbed down”, negative socialization that children receive.
How I Teach Self-Reliance, Patience, Teamwork and Persistence
I personally have built and re-built my opportunities multiple times, and after very traumatic situations…even when I was in a new City or State.
Build it and bring others to create the celebration of doing good for others.
Businesses within the community donated appliances, home furnishings, accessories, paint, plants and trees. The students learned about community engagement, empowerment and doing good deeds. Creativity and movement were incorporated: cleaning, repairing, hauling furniture, painting and planting builds muscles in the body-mind-spirit. We renewed the interior and exterior of homes and land. As one astute student said to the local news reporter that featured a story about our work, “We changed the world one family and one home at a time.”
This educational program expanded knowledge, experience, teamwork, respect, responsibility, courage and built self-esteem while demonstrating empowerment and the power to do good for others. We also helped positive do-yourself attitudes and behaviors, increased property values and gave families nicer places to live, just to name a few more benefits.
Books and video presentations were made documenting the projects and were given to the participants as gifts and memorabilia. Citizen Schools flew us to Boston to meet their team, tour the City, share our work, and receive our award at a celebration.
Together, we engaged our mind-body-spirit to overcome every obstacle and setback…the students were honored for engaging in opportunity and serving the community.
Give People Purpose and Opportunity: Cure the Need, Heal the Greed: Economic Development is an Inside Job
Many times the vulnerable are predated on as pawns in political games, then become more lost, isolated and troubled. Teach individuals purpose based on their innate skills- humans want and need to be a part of a community to contribute in the betterment of themselves and others.
Nurture empathy, compassion, resilience, and generosity to help create a better, kind world for all beings. Humans can build self-reliance through nutrition, self-care, and connection with nature, all within how to grow their own food, for example. There are other ways one can be taught life skills, sovereignty, like my holistic design program that mentors, guides and fosters critical thinking and creativity to fix issues at the core. Countries with systems that support self-mastery can become an inspiration nations: personal responsibility with shared values allows endless opportunities.
Cure Fakes, Flakes and Frauds
Sabotaging freedoms and ways to care for yourself and others is unacceptable- take responsibility for yourself and set yourself free. Education comes painfully from the narcissists and psychopaths that are in our daily lives- life is our teacher.
There are many people who do not want us to succeed. The needy and greedy waste time, resources, energy and efforts. They make empty promises. They sabotage. They cancel agreements at the last minute, they don’t follow up on promises, they harass, bully and gaslight. They engage you, lie and steal from you.
My wise father taught me, “professors who are book smart and street stupid are dangerous. Common sense is not their strength and they indoctrinate and teach their agendas instead of what helps students and their health and well-being.”
Teach people to think for themselves, how to discern, and rid themselves of parasites who want applause for their cause…their need and greed is insatiable. Fake information, fake problems, fake people.
Dumbed-down, depressed, repressed and distressed is no way to go through life. Witness the cruelty to nature, more than humans, humans…Discern.
Good News: New Legal Horizons Effect Economic Development, More than Humans, and Reflect Compassion, Empathy and Inner Growth
“Scientists’ changing understanding of animal sentience could have implications for U.S. law, which does not classify animals as sentient on a federal level.
The law follows societal views on a lot of these issues, which means the importance of getting the public to appreciate that animals are not just biological automatons, can create a groundswell of support for raising protections.
State laws vary widely. A decade ago, Oregon passed a law recognizing animals as sentient and capable of feeling pain, stress and fear.
A group of top researchers on animal cognition to publish a new pronouncement that they hope will transform how scientists and society view — and care — for animals.
Working together to better our community, build unity, our immunity, restores soils and souls. Love and Respect for our natural world enables us to transform our human world. We are each a piece of the peace.
Clean Up Destructive Economic Development Mentality: We Have a Problem, Let’s Fix It
There was a time not that long ago when developers did not completely clear land (homes/ habitats) for miles.
Colleagues, Amy Eisenberg and John Amato spend their own time and resources to care for beings in developer’s way of building new housing and retail. They regularly contact local “governance” to increase awareness and protections of habitats, have diligently cleaned up hundreds of pounds of garbage and rescued inhabitants such as the Sonoran Desert tortoises for years. They care for wildlife that have been bulldozed out of their homes, burned in wildfires, and harmed by rat poisons and other toxic chemicals considered acceptable to use in Home Owners Association (HOA’s).
Council meetings are attended with photos of the on-going devastation -with letters and emails sent, phone calls to dozens of people made. People have witnessed the carcasses of hundreds of dead wildlife, cacti, trees, plants…development death and destruction is devastating to those who care and, biodiversity helps mental health and well-being.
We need more of us speaking up- communities are uniting and keeping developers out of nature and saving habitats. We need YOU! Let’s grow, evolve and develop into the kind of humans who help increase love to reduce harm in everything we do.
YOUR Action Steps:
Plant trees! Did you know that fifteen billion trees are cut down every year.19 The Global Forest Watch project — using satellite imagery — estimates that global tree loss in 2019 was 24 million hectares. That’s an area the size of the United Kingdom!
How to Do for Humans, More than Humans and Nature (the three amigos):
1. Find empty, dilapidated, and/ or abandoned (or historic) buildings to remodel.
2. Find land that has already been destroyed and build on it. It would be ideal to leave more natural areas and agree for them to be no development zones.
3. Determine your priorities and be consistent on all levels. Do you need materialistic wealth? Do you want to reduce stress, increase joy and prosperity? And, what is really needed for your families health and well-being? One example is the importance of good, aesthetically pleasing, creative design that increase the comfort and joy of living in a space with small square footage. Bigger is not always better. Think reduce burdens on the three amigos, harms and increase love.
4. Restore habitats. Create habitats for a variety of wildlife, tree, water and plant species on your land, including human habitats. Grow at least some of your food in the ground, in greenhouses and/or in pots. All of this builds a healthy ecosystem to restore soils and souls for you, nature and more than humans.
5. Use natural building materials that do less harm, like hemp. There are a variety of unique, creative small and tiny homes. Be mindful of your choices to make sure you reduce harm, and increase love.
Be Aware, Be Prepared, Find what is being built near you.

Envision nature and more than humans being compensated for their contributions!
We must stop taking our unresolved issues out on the innocent ones: the more than humans, nature, children- the empathetic, compassionate beings are suffering. The time is now to engage and do your part to heal, and our world heals. Heal addiction of all types for a better world. Two things I wish for immediately: 1. Animals are recognized by law as sentient beings. Science knows. Everyone knows. and 2. The world drops GDP as a measure of financial well-being and instead comes up with and adopts a measurs of a nation's overall health, which would include how many trees per capita, water quality, air quality, earth quality, land dedicated to plants vs animal agriculture, poverty level. It would have 100 indicators, mostly dedicated to what we find important..
How to help Sonoran Desert tortoises is co-existing peacefully, respecting land and the beings who call it home. Another way is providing a natural habitat and adoption: https://www.azgfd.com/wildlife-conservation/living-with-wildlife/wildlife-care-center/tortoise-adoption-information/
